Actor Nikolai Nikolaeff announced the cancellation via Twitter, saying, “So… It was a great summer and I loved every minute of it. Sorry to all the @NBCCamp fans out there but no go on #CampSeason2. #upsetting.”
Despite the relatable setting of an all-ages family camp—where both parents and their teenage children can share the joys of awkward summer hook-ups—the Australian-produced series failed to find much ratings success. On the bright side, summer campers everywhere now have a new verse to their favorite campfire song: “I said a boom chicka rocka chicka Camp-was-cancelled boom!”
