On the heels of the news that Neil Patrick Harris will host the 2015 Academy Awards as well as get his own variety show on NBC, the actor will continue his pop culture domination with a guest-starring role in the final two episodes of American Horror Story: Freak Show. Not much is known about how Harris will factor into this season’s 1950s-set plot, but TV Line reports he is set to play a salesman with secrets. Also appearing in the season’s final episode is Harris’ husband, David Burtka, with the couple finally turning up on AHS years after rejecting the invitation to star in the show’s first season. This will mark the first time Harris and Murphy have collaborated since a 2010 episode of Glee. Conventional wisdom dictates this performance won’t find Harris belting out classic Aerosmith tunes. But it’s American Horror Story, so… who knows?
