Netflix's Sabrina The Teenage Witch show casts Bronson Pinchot

Though it remains untitled, Netflix’s Sabrina The Teenage Witch series has already filled out its core cast. Kiernan Shipka will play the magical teen in the Riverdale companion series from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, which will dive into the occult more than the ’90s sitcom based on the character. Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto were recently cast as Hilda and Zelda, respectively, the aunts who take in the young witch after she discovers she has supernatural powers. And because every half-witch, half-mortal high schooler needs a nemesis, Bronson Pinchot has just been cast as the “puritanical” principal of Baxter High.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the erstwhile Balki will play the “villainous” George Hawthorne, who’s described as “a constant thorn in Sabrina’s side and is always trying to thwart her escapades.” The ABC sitcom that starred Melissa Joan Hart also had an annoying, oppressive principal (played by Martin Mull), but Pinchot’s character will presumably be just a tad more dangerous in the streaming series.
