Nick Offerman says he'd return to Pawnee for a Parks And Recreation reunion

With each passing day, another classic sitcom is dusted off in preparation for a reboot or revival. Murphy Brown’s return to the small screen is already in the works, while the creators of The Office and Seinfeld are mulling over the prospect of writing storylines suitable for this post-Twitter world (here’s one from the peanut gallery). Even Will & Grace, which ended its original run with an 18-year time jump, found its way back onto NBC after retconning the eponymous duo’s split. And there’s no end in sight for the revival train, not when Parks And Recreation star Nick Offerman says he’s ready to eat the rest of your bacon and eggs.

The Daily Beast caught up with Offerman at SXSW this week, where the erstwhile Ron Swanson is promoting his new film, Hearts Beat Loud. The outlet asked Offerman if his guest role on Will & Grace—which stars Megan Mullally, his wife of 15 years—had whet his appetite for a return to Pawnee. “They’re bringing every show back now, maybe they’ll want to bring our show back,” Offerman said. But a new season of the Emmy-nominated show could only happen “thanks to brains much larger than mine. Brains that I trust with my life. And so, if Mike Schur and Amy Poehler want to bring the show back and they think it’s a good idea, I will certainly sign on.”

Offerman, Poehler, and Schur have certainly had Pawnee on their minds lately, what with having to tell certain unhinged spokespeople to stop using Parks And Rec gifs to promote their idiotic platforms. Offerman’s also sent a message in character to FCC chairman Aji Pai, who really doesn’t deserve to have the Pyramid Of Greatness in his office. So, yes, Offerman says he will “eat more meat at their behest,” should Schur and Poehler decide to reconvene at JJ’s Diner.
