There’s a place in this world for everyone, and the place for Rob Schneider is, unsurprisingly, FOX News’ streaming service FOX Nation. If you’ve been following Schneider’s career, such as it is, in recent years, you’ll know he’s become outspoken about conservative Republican values. So while his previous special (Asian Momma, Mexican Kids) streamed on Netflix, this next one, premiering June 18, is understandably headed for Fox, the bastion for those particular values. It makes all the more sense when you hear the title, which is Rob Schneider: Woke Up In America. Get it?

Fox Nation president Jason Klarman announced the special with the statement (via Benzinga), “From Saturday Night Live to feature films to sold-out shows, Rob’s ability to connect with audiences has made him a multi-generational star. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to add his talent to FOX Nation with this all-new hilarious and unfiltered comedy special.”

In his own statement, the comic said, “This comedy special is the best work of my life and I’m thrilled and grateful to have its world premiere on FOX Nation.”

The topics covered in the one-hour special are about what you’d expect, per Benzinga: “culture wars, living in a woke world, and navigating the nuanced times of identity politics,” as well as “the controversy surrounding the word woman and UFOs.” Ex-president Donald Trump and Schneider’s vasectomy also get a shout-out in the special, which certainly sounds like it will please Fox Nation’s audience.

Over the last year, Fox Nation has attempted to expand the Fox News brand beyond news with other entertainment for the political right. Luckily there’s a stable of disgruntled conservative comedians around—Roseanne Barr’s special, Cancel This!, was among the platform’s most-watched releases, according to Benzinga. May Mr. Schenider share in the glow of that niche success.

The best thing this guy ever did was introduce Rachel McAdams to a wide audience by putting her in The Hot Chick, although she would have broken thru eventually, anyway.

    You can’t do it, Robby!

How is he gonna do a whole special about that one attack helicopter joke?

“And I’d like to give a shout out to my vasectomy!” ? ? ?

Well, I mean…sure, for a given value of ‘comedy.’

So he’s doing an earnest version of “An Evening with Tim Heidecker”?

His movie career was 20 years ago, and what is this not riding Sandler’s coat tail?

  • katyggls-av says:

The failed comedian to Trump supporter pipeline is still going strong, I guess.

  • wrecksracer-av says:

His photo seems to say “I’m a fun guy who tells jokes,” but we all know that’s not true

“This comedy special is the best work of my life, so call it a solid C-?”

Remember when Rob Schneider used to be funny?Yeah, me neither.

I don’t know, the copy guy sketches were funny, and I guess the first Deuce Bigelow movie had it’s moments (not enough of them for me to see the second one).

The Hot Chick came out in 2002, I would say that is peak

  • mraf-av says:

I’m guessing he’ll be as cutting edge and hilarious as Jim Breuer’s recent far-right schtick. This is the last, desperate act of someone who’s willing to sacrifice all integrity (such as it was) in order to make a few bucks tossing lame “my pronouns are…” jokes to an echo chamber audience who are fully brainwashed.

  • gargsy-av says:

    Wow, imagine giving a shit.

I guess being friends with Adam Sandler doesn’t pay like it used to. Especially if it isn’t guaranteed that he will let you be in his movies anymore.

In my former life, I was a middling standup comic who worked the road all across America for about a decade. I opened for several future stars and several has beens. I was a jobber; a road comic.I worked several comedy clubs where Schneider was scheduled to appear or had recently appeared. And I saw him onstage more than once along the way. That dude sold out every club he played (this was as late as 2015) and people went apeshit the moment he took the stage. Half his act was doing his characters from Sandler movies or telling stories from those days. People ate it up.In 2016, I saw him at JFL in Montreal, and even the snobby comics were following him around, kissing his ass, asking him to tell stories about SNL and etc. JFL gave him a theatre show, and it was packed. JFL, some of most elitist comedy snobs you’ll meet, and they fell all over themselves to make Rob Schneider happy and have a packed house. Don’t underestimate how many average North Americans like the guy. I’ve seen the guy work a room and watched people adore him. I never understood it, but I’ve seen it first hand. That comedy special is going where it belongs, and will find a larger audience than if it wound up on Netflix, for sure.

    • gargsy-av says:

“JFL, some of most elitist comedy snobs you’ll meet”

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, sure. Because JFL doesn’t have a dozen “galas” ever year that are hosted by the ULTIMATE in hack comedians.

Snobs. That’s rich! Do you live in 1992?

    • dmicks-av says:

I’m guessing those were smaller venues though right? I live in OKC, and yeah, I could see him selling out a comedy club here, people show up in droves for just about anyone they’ve seen on tv. It doesn’t mean that they’re really big fans though.

    • arastiethe-av says:

Rob Schneider can be more famous than a roomful of people at a regional comedy club and a washed up relic who hasn’t been relevant in movies or television for going on 20 years. There’s no contradiction there. This is the first and last time anyone reading this article will ever hear about his comedy special. It doesn’t matter what channel it airs on. It doesn’t matter. Schneider doesn’t matter. He’s a joke so old I can’t tell it to my kids because none of them know who he is.

I guess now it won’t be accurate to say Rob Schneider is the worst thing in everything he’s in. He found the loophole!
