Sarah Michelle Gellar to voice villain on Star Wars Rebels

We reported back in March that Sarah Michelle Gellar would be joining the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels for the show’s second season, but at the time, details about her character remained unknown. Although she recently teased fans with some Princess Leia cosplay posted on her Instagram, Gellar will actually be playing a villain in Star Wars Rebels, which returned in June for “The Siege Of Lothal.” As BuzzFeed reports, Gellar will voice the Seventh Sister, one of The Inquisitors. A resourceful and cunning villain, the Seventh Sister takes over for the previous Inquisitor, who was voiced by Jason Isaacs.

Gellar will be working alongside her real-life husband Freddie Prinze Jr., who voices Kanan Jarrus. According to Gellar, the Seventh Sister “definitely plays cat-and-mouse with Kanan,” which sounds like some good ol’ spousal fun. Gellar also explained in a video for BuzzFeed that there are parts of her in the character. “They would record my mannerisms — sometimes when I would get into character I would do certain things with my hands, and then a couple weeks later I would see that in the drawing,” Gellar said. “They sort of reflect and mirror each other.” We hope that means the Seventh Sister will have some slayer-like moves.

The second season continues on Disney XD on October 14 at 9:30 p.m. ET.
