Shia LaBeouf is coming for Jared Leto's Joker in this teaser image for The Tax Collector

Remember when you first saw Jared Leto’s take on the Joker for the Suicide Squad movie? Remember the way the unhinged madness of his various “ha ha ha” tattoos sent a chill down your spine? His was the very face of chaos, a man who had looked into the black void of society and come out laughing on the other side. Now, finally, it seems like Leto’s Joker may have found his match in another David Ayer movie. As reported by Collider, Ayer has released a teaser image of star Shia LaBeouf from his upcoming crime movie The Tax Collector, and he looks like he could definitely give the Joker a run for his mad money:

There’s certainly a lot going on here, and it’s hard to unpack all of the tattoos without a higher-resolution image, but the centerpiece is definitely the big “CREEPER” across LaBeouf’s stomach. Much like the Joker’s “Damaged” forehead ink, it seems like this is giving us a rather direct look into the soul of the character. After all, who wears shorts like that with no shirt, boots, and big sunglasses unless they’re looking to creep on something? We don’t really know anything about The Tax Collector other than some casting announcements (George Lopez, Lana Parrilla, and Margot Robbie will appear alongside LaBeouf), but it might be nice to see LaBeouf play a bit of a maniac since he missed out on the Suicide Squad fun.

Also, it’s worth noting that the real Shia LaBeouf has a lot of tattoos, so it’s unclear if any of these are real (or, god forbid, if they’re all real), but we do know that his Missy Elliot knee tattoos seem to be absent in this photo.
