As reported by Entertainment Weekly, director Sam Raimi has expressed interest in helming TLOR prequel The Hobbit, which may derail the momentum of the Spidey franchise. Kirsten Dunst said in response to the news, [Spider-Man 4] would be a big flop without me, Tobey [Maguire], or Sam." Maguire has already been on the fence about his future webslinging career, but Sony's Matt Tolmach assured EW that Spidey 4 will definitely happen, with or without Raimi.
