Steven Tyler is now facing a second lawsuit for sexual assault. Earlier this year, Julia Misley filed a suit against Tyler claiming that he was granted guardianship over her so that they could have a sexual relationship when she was just 16 years old. (Tyler wrote about the relationship in his memoir.) Now, another woman has come forward to accuse Tyler of assaulting her when she was 17 and he was 27 years old.

Jeanne Bellino is a former child model who claims in her suit that she and a friend met Aerosmith around 1975. While walking in Manhattan with Tyler and members of his entourage, Bellino alleges that her question about a song lyric upset Tyler and he forced her into a nearby phone booth. “While holding her captive, Tyler stuck his tongue down her throat, and put his hands upon her body, her breasts, her buttocks, and her genitals, moving and removing clothing and pinning her against the wall of the phone booth,” the suit says (via Rolling Stone). “As Tyler was mauling and groping Plaintiff, he was humping her pretending to have sex with Plaintiff. Others stood by outside the phone booth laughing and as passersby watched and witnessed, nobody in the entourage intervened.”

Bellino claims that “Tyler’s penis was erect and it was evident to her as he rubbed it against her that he was not wearing underwear and wearing thin pants.” She managed to free herself and escaped the phone booth “in shock and fear”; it was reportedly the teenager’s first sexual experience.

According to the suit, Bellino stayed with the group because she was relying on her friend for transportation. She alleges that Tyler assaulted her again when they returned to the band’s hotel. Tyler then told her he would call her up to his room and went upstairs. Bellino says she was shaking and sobbing and rather than go upstairs, she “bolted toward the door” and was put into a cab by a doorman who had witnessed the incident. She reportedly told her sister what she experienced immediately upon returning home.

Bellino’s suit asserts that she “has suffered and will continue to suffer, great pain of mind and body, severe and permanent emotional distress, physical manifestations of emotional distress, embarrassment, humiliation, physical, personal & psychological injuries” and still relies on medication “to cope with the sexual assault and has suffered long-term physical injury associated with the trauma.”

“This is not just about a serial predator named Steven Tyler, it’s about an industry that’s given him cover, that’s given him permission, that’s given him profits and prestige, and has known for decades that he was a peril to teenagers,” Bellino’s lawyer Jeff Anderson, who also represents Misley, said in a statement to People. “We have good reason to know that this has been a pattern of conduct for decades, both permitted by this industry.”

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or go to rainn.org.

Well listen baby: this ain’t no rock ‘n roll, jelly roll, corporation salad bowl, play the singles, it ain’t me, it’s corporate insanity, you ASCAP if BMI could ever make a mountain fly, if Japanese can boil teas then where the fuck’s my royalties?

  • universalamander-av says:

He should have written good music like Bowie, then he could have done all the rapes he wanted and no one would care.

  • heartbeets-av says:

Shocked, I tell you. Absolutely shocked.
/s just in case it’s not obvious.

Can’t say that I’m surprised. The creepy obsession with underage girls that a lot of rockers of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s had is all too well known. Hell, they all used to write songs about underage girls. He seems to be perfectly in the creepy kid-fucker demographic of rock and roll. I can see a mistake if a girl looks much older than her age, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with most of these guys.
    Never understood it myself.

I mean yeah he obviously did it. He used sexualized images of his own daughter in his videos. Yet it’s still disappointing, if not surprising.

    • panthercougar-av says:

It’s funny that you stopped at the 70’s.

      • jmyoung123-av says:

I would have included the 80’s but by the 90’s I think it did mostly stop. I mean in the 70’s, every major artist or band was doing it.

        • adohatos-av says:

I always thought of the “Nevermind” album cover as kind of making fun of rockers putting nude or nearly nude young girls on their covers. Like they put a naked kid in the least sexual situation possible. Unless we find out someone in Nirvana was a pedo, that would change things.

          • kinjacaffeinespider-av says:

and look how well that kid turned out.

          • bgunderson-av says:

And Nirvana has been sued for “sexually exploiting” the child featured on that cover. Not successfully, of course, but they were sued.

        • ofaycanyouseeme-av says:

It never stopped. It might be worse now.

          • jmyoung123-av says:

Why do you think that? What events or evidence do you have?

          • ofaycanyouseeme-av says:

Because a lot of the artists that were credibly accused of sexual misconduct as a result of Me Too or whatever, were active and offending in the 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s. Chris Brown? Jared Leto? Ryan Adams? Justin Sane? XXXTentacion? Anthony Kiedis flat-out admitted to statutory rape in his book.
https://everyoneknew.com/music-bands-musicians/https://www.nickiswift.com/1137900/pop-stars-accused-of-terrible-crimes/I don’t care to think about this further, but the evidence is certainly out there, and easy to find. Given how much people scrutinize accusers vs their attackers, I’m inclined to believe a lot of the claims. Pop stars are people, and people do horrible things with power.

          • jmyoung123-av says:

Again, from your own citations., it was hardly prevalent. Nonexistent? no. Just not normal. And a lot of these are nonsexual violence and I was referring to the general tolerance for rock stars fucking underage girls and coercing women sexually that existed.

          • ofaycanyouseeme-av says:

Establish every facet of your parameters for acceptable evidence to the last detail please. I will determine whether they are valid or not.

provided he’s not an actual pedo, i feel bad for kip winger. classically trained session musician just wanted to make some money, and the easiest way to do it in the 80s was with hair metal. and gets sh*t on over and over.

          • kinjacaffeinespider-av says:

Just snarking, no disrespect. Reb Beach was always high on lists on best guitarists too. This was pre-grunge, of course.

      • bcfred2-av says:

Yeah I have to think the 80s hair metal scene in West Hollywood was every bit as nasty. But I get his point that pursuing young teens was a much more open practice with early rock and R&B acts. You have Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis on the front lines, then Led Zeppelin managing to separate itself from the pack within the classic guitar rock era.  I think it’s why Cosby was so confounded by the accusations against him.  “It was the 70s!  You slipped women ‘ludes and then had your way with them!  It’s just how it was done!!”

    • pearlnyx-av says:

The age of consent was 17 (or younger in many states) at the time. It’s still 17 in NY.

    • bgunderson-av says:

Never understood it myself. Then you are an idiot.Who is the audience for rock music? What is the age range of the people that audience is attracted to/actually dates? The songs you are referencing are written from the perspective of a person in that audience’s age range. The Stray Cats’ Sexy and 17 is written from the perspective of a high school kid. While a 17 year old girl is underage – in some jurisdictions – a song about a 17 year old boy lusting after his 17 year old girlfriend is not “creepy”. It can seem creepy when sung by a 45 year old Brian Setzer., but only if you completely ignore the actual content of the song.
If you “never understood this”, it’s because you can’t be bothered to actually think.

    • butterflybaby-av says:

The era hasn’t aged well and is fortunately gone forever.

  • cognativedecline-av says:

Does this really surprise anyone – me thinks not.Aerosmith was also notoriously nasty to opening acts and other musicians with Tyler in the lead. Was a fan up until Hot Rocks, but their re-invention? Ugh.

    • panthercougar-av says:

I think you mean Rocks. Hot Rocks is an early Rolling Stones Greatest Hits compilation 🙂

    • kinjacaffeinespider-av says:

The Kinks were notoriously nasty to their opening act: Aerosmith. Ray called them “Harry Smith”, and like not in a cool way.

    • bcfred2-av says:

Yeah you can really cut their career into two pieces. Great scuzzy blues-influenced guitar rock band, then after nearly cratering and being resuscitated by Run-DMC basically a pop act (though I do really like Permanent Vacation). Once they figured out the money was in joke songs like Dude Looks Like a Lady and Love in an Elevator, or power ballads, it was over.

  • jhhmumbles-av says:

Honest to God contender for the least surprising revelation of this sort, ever. Which is saying something.

  • sh90706-av says:

Does anyone not know this? While such behavior is frowned upon now, I was around in the 70’s, and the teenage girls that flocked around Tyler and such rock stars were so common. It was even considered a badge of honor to spend time with these guys. Now there’s the complaints because why not.

  • dsgagfdaedsg-av says:

I vomited in my mouth reading this. I am severely arachnophobic thanks to a childhood stint in Australia and I would rather be trapped in a sleeping bag with a dozen goliath bird-eating spiders than go through what that girl went through.

  • daveassist-av says:

For those upset about some other guy “getting MeToo’d”… there’s a solution. Don’t sexually assault anyone.

  • ghboyette-av says:

This often happens when YOU SEXUALLY ASSAULT PEOPLE. Really gotta stop doing that.

Which also means that her accusations are bullshit. You can fit two people into a phone booth, but not if you’re going to be wrestling with someone.

  • simplepoopshoe-av says:

Now I see why Johnny Depp admired him so much.

  • simplepoopshoe-av says:

Perhaps once Depp’s face cracks we can retroactively do this to him.

  • butterflybaby-av says:

I can’t think of a more awful experience than having sex with Tyler at any age but girls, c’mon, you gotta come out when this stuff WHEN IT HAPPENS. There shouldn’t be any legal justification for 40 year old claims.

  • buffalobear-av says:

When Steven Tyler was 27, wooly mammoths still roamed the earth.Perhaps we can let this go.
