Yee-haw! Dave Filoni and his cowboy hat were on stage at the D23 Expo to give some updates on Bad Batch season two and Tales From The Jedi, his six-part anthology series set in the Star Wars universe. Now that show has a release date. All six episodes will debut on Disney+ on October 26.

According to Filoni, three episodes will focus on Ahsoka and the other three on Count Dooku. Most importantly, they played a new trailer and it looks like the female Yoda, Yaddle is in the cast. This is a big win for us Yaddle heads, who love the idea of a Yoda that has hair.

The show also reunited Filoni with former Clone Wars writer Charles Murray. So this is for big-time Ahsoka and Clone Wars heads. Kathleen Kennedy name-dropped Hayao Miyazaki to emphasize how good the animation is. Based on the trailer, it’s not at that level, if you can believe it. In the mean time, let us luxuriate in Yaddle’s beautiful locks.

Wow, only three episodes centered on Ahsoka? Admirable restraint on Filoni’s part indeed! I don’t have any problem with adding original characters to the existing SW universe, but Ahsoka hit Poochie levels long ago. We get it, she’s amazing, etc.

Ha, first on this. Bring on Yaddle, hell yes. There was a ‘Tales of the Jedi’ comic back in the day from Dark Horse and they gave her an amazing back story. Hoping they can do that in animated form, it would be great to see!

What does it matter if you’re first when no one will see your comment and none of the writers give a shit you took the time to comment on their story? How long do we put up with this?

Okay, yet more Clone Wars. Bad Batch season two when?

Nice to have more Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka. Not to mention Matt Lanter’s Anakin Skywalker.

Still the best Anakin. That guy, you could believe there’s a coins-flip chance that he winds up the galaxy’s greatest hero or its worst villain.

I know he’s a cranky old man but I’m laughing at this because I’m pretty sure Miyazaki would despise it

As someone who didn’t care for the wooden animation style of Filoni’s shows, I have to say it’s improved a lot over time. This looks pretty legit.

Compare early Clone Wars episodes (they look like computer-rendered marionettes) to the Maul-Ahsoka duel in the final season. It’s like comparing a WWI biplane to an F-22
