It’s been nearly two years, one Book Of Boba Fett, and a whole entire Gina Carano since we last got a proper look at The Mandalorian—at least, those of us who weren’t in attendance at the Star Wars Celebration back in May, when a teaser for the Disney+ show’s third season was revealed.

Well, now your friends can no longer lord their exclusive knowledge of what Carl Weathers is looking like these days over you, because it looks like that same trailer is now available online, after playing at Disney’s D23 event today.

The Mandalorian | Season 3 Teaser Trailer | Disney+

It’s a pretty action-packed offering, all things considered, even as it opens with The Armorer confirming that a) Mando’s a daddy now, and b) he’s not really a Mandalorian anymore, due to violating their culture’s strict hat policy. Beyond that, though, we get all sorts of shots of other Mandalorians in action, Grogu being cute, ships going pew-pew, a whole tree of Salacious B. Crumbs, Amy Sedaris, and, yes, Babu Frik. Whoo! It’s a pretty busy 2 minutes, is all we’re saying, even if it does cut out some time for an impromptu fireworks show for Mando’s little man right there at the end.

The release of the teaser was accompanied by a panel appearance from series co-star Giancarlo Esposito, a.k.a. the guy you probably most want saying incredibly nice things about your TV show in the most enthusiastic way possible. (Sadly, no footage of Esposito’s bad guy, Moff Gideon, in the trailer proper.)

Disney+ has yet to reveal a fixed release date for the third season of The Mandalorian; at this point, we’re currently aiming at a vague “2023" for our return to this particular corner of the galaxy.

I really like The Mandalorian, but I look forward to this heavily action packed trailer containing fully 80% of the action scenes from season 3.

  • oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy-av says:

Quite the coincidence that Babu Frik (from the movies!!!!) once coincidentally crossed paths with the Mandalorian!!!

  • dirtside-av says:

It’s a great trailer and looks fantastic. But I haven’t forgotten how badly written season 2 was (not to mention The Book of Boba Fett, which was a train derailing into an already-burning garbage fire).

I don’t get takes like this. There’s no shortage of truly execrable shows out there. Hell, even Star Wars has had some terrible entries. How can someone declare Boba Fett to be particularly bad after seeing Rise of Skywalker?

      • sxp151-av says:

They were both terrible. I like most live action Star Wars, but those two and Solo were all atrocious.

      • dirtside-av says:

Easily. Because they were both really bad. You might as well have asked how I could possibly complain about the taste of piss after having eaten shit. Do you want me to go into detail about how fucking stupid TBOBF was?

I gave up on star wars films after TLJ , I hear RoS is even worse . I quite enjoyed the last two seasons of Mando , and Fett wasnt the worst thing I’ve seen .Fucked if I know who Babu Frik is though? assuming its something from the last film?

        • rogueindy-av says:

Yeah, he was the “breakout” character.I do find it funny how both people who liked and disliked TLJ agree that ROS is terrible. Hell, even Germain Lussier trashed it, and he likes everything. If you liked Mando and Fett, you might enjoy Solo. Those shows kinda feel like successors to it.

    Fucking pumped for this one.

  • soylent-gr33n-av says:

I’m surprised the Armorer let Mando walk out of there wearing all that beskar, after Mando spent season 2 busting the balls of everyone he encountered in Mandalorian armor about whether they had the right to wear it or not.

    • nowaitcomeback-av says:

Yeah it’s really weird he was allowed to just waltz away with all his beskar AND the darksaber, but not allowed to still call himself a Mandalorian.

  • SquidEatinDough-av says:

Are Star Wars “fans” mad about it? There’s always something they’re mad about.

  • pearlnyx-av says:

So did Luke just give up on training Grogu?

  • Munkey-av says:

Welding without a shirt?!?!? My man gives zero fucks about scorched Frik-nips!
