I rewatched the entirety of Chernobyl like 5 times. 2019 is literally the best year of television IMO.
Huge thank you to William and Noel for including Infinity Train on their lists – I still can’t begin to understand how that’s flown under the radar to the degree that it has so far. I’ve marathon’d the whole thing with 3 VERY different groups of friends/ family, all of whom were immediately enthralled… hope CN promotes it a bit more for S2. It’s so worth the watch.
It’s aggressively all-ages, if not biased towards older viewers. It’s goofy on the surface, but delves deep into a lot of heavy character exploration – the entire first season is basically about the main character learning to process trauma.
No one loved Deadly Class as much as I do? I thought it was perfection. Or Legion? Or The Boys? I guess I’m just not jiving with TV much these days. Some new favorites:South Side! Best new comedy.StumptownSupernatural forever Mr. Robot has been consistently amazing. What We Do in the ShadowsI’ll probably love Carnival Row and Good Omens when I get to them. And I’m sure I’m forgetting so many.
You’re right, William put it on his list which I missed when I initially scanned the lists. Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal is an animated mini series set in a fictional Dinosaur/Caveman age. Gorgeous and brutal, it shows the relationship between a caveman and a dino that have both lost their families but find each other. I loved it.
Oh, duh, that Primal. I blanked on the name, but I watched it and really liked it. The bat demons worshipping a spider-god were a little unexpected, but I enjoy Tartakovsky’s animation, especially a project like this that is really pretty far out there.

My personal ballot:1. Barry2. Lodge 493. Succession4. Chernobyl5. Mr. Robot6. Watchmen7. Fosse/Verdon8. Perpetual Grace, LTD9. The Deuce10. Russian Doll11. Documentary Now!12. Stranger Things13. True Detective14. Corporate15. Bojack HorsemanHonorable mentions: Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Good Place, Killing Eve, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, What We Do in the Shadows,
Lodge 49 is everything to me, I can barely even remember anything else this year. Stranger Things – S3 was perfect.Glow The Magicians Arrow – show has faltered, but is back in top form for its final season, which I’m happy to see.Brockmire – the latest season took a much more heartwarming turn, I loved it.DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – revels in its goofiness and the most fun DC show, also the most improved since season 1 was just so, so bad.Mr. Robot – I’m surprised I didn’t see this more, this season has been great.Good OmensAltered Carbon – the most movie-like show I’ve ever seen, fantastic production.Agents of SHIELD – Always and forever. The Orville – best Star Trek since Enterprise(which I loved)Jessica Jones – I want Ritter to survive the Disney purge more than anyone.Into the Badlands – really fun show, despite some inconsistency and the loss of one of its most compelling characters.Westworld – I thought the second season was even better than the first, can’t wait for more.
Thank you. I really did draw a blank after Lodge 49 and maybe the next 3, so I searched tv shows of 2019 and went over the list to remind me of what was out, I thought I saw Westworld on there but maybe I just pulled it up. I checked a few of the others to confirm because I really can’t remember what is this year or last.

Jesus… it’s been an incredible year for TV, just with Barry and Fleabag alone.

I think 2013-2015 outdo it, personally.

Is it appealing to all ages? Never have even heard of it but often avoid CN.

Only one person put down Sex Education?Bullshit.

I feel like so many of my shows are ending this year.
Damn Primal didn’t make anyone’s list. What’s wrong with you?
I saw it on one or two, but I don’t even know what it is.

This is an excellent list. I’d put BoJack higher, but there’s a ton of great stuff on there.

I agree with a lot of your list. It’s got lots of genre stuff on there, which I appreciate. Westworld Season 2 aired in 2018, though.

Relatable.
At least some users are mentioning Mr. Robot, it’s last season has been nothing short of amazing.
Did everyone forget Atlanta?
