The burden of any sequel is to not only satisfy fans of its predecessor, but also to avoid alienating an audience that may be unfamiliar with the original. So if you somehow missed out on Tom Six’s The Human Centipede and its allegorical exploration of World War II as a multicultural, lips-to-ass daisy chain, Six meets the onus of his anus story by making the sequel’s lead character, Martin, a fan of the first film, thus allowing Six to introduce the basic plot meta-textually as Martin watches it and, according to the British Board Of Film Classification, begins masturbating with sandpaper.
