Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, April 8. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow (The CW, 8 p.m.): This week, Hank commandeers the Waverider, leaving the Legends stranded in 1973, road-tripping across the U.S. in an RV, and none of them can tell a lie. If that doesn’t sound like a solid episode of Legends Of Tomorrow, we don’t know what does.

Regular coverage

Wild card

NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship Game (CBS, 9 p.m.): Let’s watch the NCAA make millions of dollars off of the backs of underpaid athletes, why not? After a month of madness, only Virginia and Texas Tech are left standing from the field of 68, and tonight they’ll compete for the national championship. The real winner will probably end up being the NCAA though—a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization that makes upwards of $800 million a year on the three-week tournament.

“Time-tripping” back to the 70s has been a tired trope even before SG1 did it back in 1999.

When March Madness started I talked with my non-sports aware spouse about how fucked the NCAA is for athletes. And how it basically just makes bank on the backs of mostly impoverished minority kids. And how the way the NCAA feeds into the NBA basically makes them choose – education or a slim chance at making the game and having enough money for maybe five years. Basically, thank God I teach at a DII school and folks are talking about it.

Man, I’ve missed Legends. It’s now basically a hangout comedy with a superheroic slant to it, complete with some emotional beats thrown in.Last episode I found that Monica Wu’s Mona isn’t working for me. She feels really out of place, and like she came from a different show altogether. The way Wu plays her just don’t mesh well with the tone the show is going for.

I made a mistake and thought the actress’ name was Monica Wu, but it was actually Ramona Young. Can’t edit the comment now, sigh.

“If that doesn’t sound like a solid episode of Legends Of Tomorrow, we don’t know what does.”I can only think of two words that could make an episode of legends not sound like a solid episode: “Hawkgirl returns.”

    why can’t they lie?

They’ve kidnapped Richard Nixon. For some reason, Tricky Dick can’t lie…and it spreads to the rest of the team.
