The next Monsterverse movie is reportedly called Godzilla And Kong, because they are friends now
Although not officially announced, the title would seem to confirm that this is the big Lizard/Ape team-up movie we've all been waiting for

If there’s one major takeaway we got from last year’s Godzilla Vs. Kong—a film we definitely, absolutely finished after renting it on VOD last spring, and didn’t drift away from as soon as dinner was done so we could go watch basically anything else—it’s that King Kong and Godzilla are friends now. Don’t believe us? Take a gander at the reported title of the new installment of Legendary’s ongoing this’ll-be-a-cinematic-universe-if-it-fuckin’-kills-us Monsterverse franchise, and clock the conjunction sitting at the center of it: Godzilla And Kong, baby. Besties for life!
Now, to be fair, this title hasn’t been officially announced yet; reports of the name come from photos people have snapped of crew members wearing clothes with the new logo on it, so it’s always possible the movie will actually end up being called Godzilla Or Kong, or Godzilla But Kong, or possibly even Godzilla Yet Kong, which has a wistfulness to it that we’re actually pretty into. Still, the whole “And” thing does tie into the already released synopsis for the film, which states that it pits “the almighty Kong *and* the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world.” (Emphasis, asterisks, and underlining from us, not Legendary, who were really dropping the ball there.)
Even if you, somehow, are not deeply enamored of the idea of a big nuclear lizard and The Large Ape being best buds, grabbing a drink after work, helping each other move, etc.—or the secret origins of “The Titans,” which is what these movies call kaiju, and which this film is apparently promising—there’s still at least something to get excited about here. By which we of course mean the news that Dan Stevens will be reuniting with Godzilla Vs. Kong director Adam Wingard for this one, which means, as far as we’re concerned, it might as well be called Godzilla And Kong And The Guest.

Godzilla Hearts Kong
I wanted the last one to be good but I think it killed the franchise.Godzilla chases down the ship carrying Kong so he can kill Kong. So the humans cut the ship’s power and for some reason Godzilla’s reaction is “sweet, that monkey I hate must have died, I’ll go now.”and then the movie gets stupider, somehow.
stupid, yes. but all i wanted out of it was godzilla and kong fighting and smashing up japan and i got that.
Yeah, I have no emotional attachment or investment into these characters, I just wanna see them punch each other.

If I want actual contemplations on humanity and the enormity of the world in my Kaiju movie, I’ll watch some of the Japanese Godzilla movies. In the American versions, I’m perfectly fine with “munkee fight leezard”. Keeps my expectations low so if they do pull off something more, I can be pleasantly surprised.
The film was literally a CGI version of a kid in a bathtub playing with toys, and I have no problem with that. It made me smile, didn’t try to do anything more, and that’s all I needed from it.
Ok you really need to watch the later Showa era Godzilla movies. Godzilla vs Megalon where the inhabitants of Seatopia are angry thier underground society was disrupted by nuclear testing so they send thier giant monster Megalon to destroy Tokyo BUT they also steal Dr. Goro’s robot Jet Jaguar because they need something to lead Megalon to Tokyo for some reason. but Goro steals his robot back and send him to get Godzilla on Monster Island and then Jet Jaguar returns and reprograms himself to be bigger somehow to fight Megalon. The space aliens however see Megalon and send thier cyborg monster Gigan to help him destroy Tokyo because they want revenge. Then Godzilla shows up and they all fight like it’s pro-wrestling and they win and Jet Jaguar walks off with Goro and his family to his own theme song.
So for as stupid as you might think Godzilla vs Kong was it was absolutely in line with the history of Godzilla.
The full title is Godzilla and Kong: An erotic week in Paris. The plot will be Godzilla and Kong meeting to catch up but realizing their friendship is something more. What then unfolds is hours if two Kaiju exploring each other bodies in glorious uncensored details. Audiences will be titillated but also moved to tears by this erotic masterpiece.
