If they want Trump to stop playing “YMCA”, all they need to do is thank him for playing one of the formative queer anthems at his rallies, spreading their message of tolerance and gay flirting to his loyal followers everywhere. I honestly don’t think Trump would care that much (he hosted the Log Cabin Republicans at Mar-A-Lago a few months back, after all), but the backlash from his MAGAts would cause him to stop playing that song.
That would work if it weren’t for the fact that their lead singer, who was the only straight member, went around for years in interviews insisting it wasn’t a song celebrating gay life but actually a song about the wholesomeness of the YMCA. Not that anyone ever believed that.

If the venues have a blanket license for the music, then there’s really nothing they can do about it.
