Today in music videos: A bearded, naked Shia LaBeouf stars in a new Sigur Rós clip

Iceland’s Sigur Rós came up with an interesting idea for their latest album, the excellent Valtari: tab a dozen filmmakers to make videos inspired by their experience listening to the album. It’s not unlike an idea R.E.M. tried out with last year’s Collapse Into Now. But while the now-broken-up Georgia trio was able to wrangle James Franco, the Sigur Ros project ups the ante with an eight-minute nudity-filled (so, NSFW) video starring a bearded Shia LaBeouf and his paramour locked in… something. It's the third video in what the band is calling its “Mystery Film Experiment” series, is directed by Alma Har’el (Bombay Beach), and set to the album’s sublime, piano-based, vocal-less closer, “Fjögur piano.” The whole thing is even weirder than you'd expect. There are butterflies, sexually-suggestive ballet, glowing lollipops, and apparent kidnapping, and other weird shit that doesn’t make any sense. Oh, and Shia LaBeouf’s penis. But, hey, the song is pretty.
