As previously reported, Kiefer Sutherland will return to Fox with a drama from Heroes creator Tim Kring about a single father whose mute, autistic child can "see past, present, and future." Judging by this trailer, Touch seems to adhere closely to the old "autism gives kids supernatural powers” cliché of so many movies before it, and it’s still unclear whether anyone will want to watch Sutherland overact unless he’s about to torture someone. However, Heroes started off strong, so there’s reason to be cautiously optimistic—and maybe Fox will cancel it before Kring's inability to plan beyond a single season kicks in.
