Yoko Ono joins forces with Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon for new album

Despite the announcement last fall that Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon were separating after 27 years of marriage—and thus putting the future of the band in jeopardy—the pair are still making music together. Just yesterday, Moore and Gordon released the 14-minute “Early In The Morning,” a collaboration with Yoko Ono to benefit the Ashinaga Rainbow House, an organization that’s been working with tsunami victims. And it seems there’s more where that came from as the trio announced today they’ll be releasing a six-track album, titled YOKOKIMTHURSTON and including the aforementioned single, via Chimera Records on September 25.
