Someone tried to break into Drake’s house
The attempted break in occurred just one day after a security guard was shot outside the mansion

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s rap beef has seemingly broken through into the real world yet again. Yesterday, an unnamed man attempted to break into Drake’s mansion in the Bridle Path neighborhood of Toronto (per CNN). According to a statement from Toronto Police media relations officer Ashley Visser, the person was subsequently “apprehended… [and] taken to obtain medical assistance” under Ontario’s Mental Health Act. The act allows officers to take people they reasonably suspect to be suffering from a mental health disorder into custody (rather than making an arrest) so they can get medical treatment.
“No criminal charges are being laid at this time,” Toronto police also told the BBC in a separate statement. It’s unclear whether Drake or anyone else was in the residence at the time.
This incident comes just one day after a security guard was shot outside the same mansion in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday. The man was standing outside a gate and was subsequently taken to the hospital “in serious condition,” according to Toronto Police Inspector Paul Krawczyk (via CBC News). He has since undergone surgery and remains in the hospital. Authorities could not confirm whether or not this was a drive-by shooting, but they do say they have video evidence and a car was involved.
They have also not officially connected either of these two incidents to the ongoing diss battle between Drake and Lamar, although it doesn’t exactly seem like that much of a stretch. Among other incredibly vicious lyrics, Lamar called Drake a “certified pedophile” and suggested that “him and Weinstein should get fucked up in a cell for the rest of their life.” The cover art for “Not Like Us,” one of the three (!) tracks Kendrick released about Drake last weekend, also features an aerial shot of the very house in question, covered with the same pins used to indicate sex offenders on a registry map. Drake, of course, denied these allegations in a subsequent track.

Unless the connection is that Drake understands he got washed in the battle and now is manufacturing incidents to deflect attention and/or claim “this beef has gone far enough, let us stop before someone really gets hurt”. This would allow him to save some face.And yes, I have my tinfoil hat on while typing this comment.

My hope is that he gets shot and paralyzed like he did on Degrassi. I just think it would be neat.
Clearly when that hotline bling, it now means more than one thing.
Considering Drake’s house is as big as Minas Tirith, I’m impressed anyone made it over the fence.
If the Balrog of Morgoth couldn’t keep little hobbits out of his home, I don’t see how Drake would have fared any better.
