The details of the petition are sealed, but it seems to involve Grimes and Musk's youngest son

Elon Musk and Grimes had their first child together in 2020, followed by a daughter they had with a surrogate in 2021, and Walter Isaacson’s recent biography of Musk revealed that the couple—who broke up in 2021 after several years of an on-again, off-again relationship—had had a third child at some point that they named Techno Mechanicus (or “Tau”). Now, as reported by Pitchfork, Grimes is suing Musk to “establish parental relationship,” with TMZ noting that this comes not long after Grimes responded to a Tweet from Isaacson about his book by saying (among other things), “tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer.” The implication, as TMZ sees it, is that Musk is refusing to allow Grimes to see Techno Mechanicus, and by filing this petition in court, she is planning to eventually establish custody rights (though she has yet to formally file for either that or child support).

The specific details of this case are sealed, and it doesn’t seem like either party has commented about it publicly, but Grimes’ aforementioned post (which has since been deleted) mentioned that she was also trying to get in touch with Shivon Zillis, an executive at Musk’s Neuralink—a company that has supposedly never killed a monkey with one of its brain implants!—who gave birth to twins she had with Musk in 2021 (according to Isaacson’s book, he didn’t tell Grimes about them).

Since then, though, Grimes and Zillis have spoken and Grimes now says she “totally” understands what happened and forgives “the situation” with the twins, adding that “women are so often pitted against each other,” that “Zillis is an “amazing human,” and that they both “just want what’s best” for their kids.

The state should probably take custody of all of Elon’s offspring, on account of him being prima facie unfit to be a father, and anyone willing to sleep with him unfit to be a mother.

Legit.  I will rarely advocate for children being taken from their parents, but these children have zero chance of ending up in any way resembling even partially well-adjusted.

    • i-miss-splinter-av says:

The children should be taken based on their birth names alone. Anybody who names their children like that is unfit to be a parent.

I once saw a post from one of Musk’s weird fanboys saying that Elon would be capable of building and programming a perfect sex-bot companion for himself and thus wouldn’t need human women anymore, and while that entire premise is absurd for a number of reasons, it might honestly be a better outcome than him continuing to produce seemingly endless offspring with women he considers disposable.

Pack him and the sexbot on a rocket and send it to Mars and if he manages to make it back I’ll finally admit he’s a smart guy

“that ‘Zillis is an ‘amazing human,’”Why have we transitioned to calling people “human” rather than “person”? Why did this happen? I see it everywhere.  I need to get to the bottom of it.

To distinguish human people from AI people.

It feels like there’s something vaguely new-agey or woke (non-pejorative) about, but I’ve never seen any evidence confirming this. Anyone I’ve heard use it has been a lefty NPR type. I don’t understand why anyone does this, and it sounds silly to me. But I suppose I came around to many other things, and one day it won’t sound weird anymore. But it does sound very weird right now.

      • electricsheep198-av says:

Yeah I kind of feel like it’s to stay away from using man or woman to be inclusive, which is great, but “person” was fine for that as well, so…  It also feels like maybe it’s trying to focus on the “human-ness” of the person, kind of separating whatever they did or are from animals?  IdkThis might be one of those things that I have to chalk up to bothering me because I’m old.  I think it also bothers me because at this point it just seems trendy and something people do to sound cool, and as a child of the 80s I have to be against anything people do to look cool.  So yeah maybe it’ll grow on me in time.

        • jpfilmmaker-av says:

You’re totally right about the “trendy”-ness of it. It definitely is a lefty-only type of thing, at least in my experience, but I think (based on no hard data, to be fair) it comes from a place of wanting to reinforce the idea that everyone is a human. I can’t really fault the practice on that basis, even if it sounds weird and silly most of the time.

          • electricsheep198-av says:

Yeah that’s the thing. I can’t come up with a specific problem with it. All the reasons I can think of for it are actually fine. It just annoys me and I have to live with that. I’ll go yell at some clouds now.

There might still be some Neanderthals around, so it’s best to be specific.

    • adamtrevorjackson-av says:

i think people have always said it, it’s just that we see more of what people say written down all the time.

      • electricsheep198-av says:

I have not heard it, but it’s a big world.  It’s possible it’s just now making its way into my orbit.

Honestly, a pair of primates at the zoo would do a better job of rearing offspring of those two dullards.

“…had had a third child at some point that they named Techno Mechanicus”Oh for fuck’s sake

…Techno Mechanicus (or “Tau”)…For the love of God, change the channel, Marge.

  • weedlord420-av says:

Y’know normally I’m all for “fuck the rich, who cares?” but honestly just for the moment I’m glad that little Techno Mechanicus has a rich dad and will go to a private school (if not just private tutors or some shit) because that kid would get the shit bullied out of him in a public school with a goofy name like that.

  • igotlickfootagain-av says:

“Techno Mechanicus” is the fake name a human who is trying to get into a Transformers only club comes up with when put on the spot.

    • jalapenogeorge-av says:

I feel like Techno Mechanicus is actually the sort of name kids would think is really cool. It’s everyone over 10 years old who realises it’s a dumb name (except for Elon Musk, apparently).

      • scnew1-av says:

Techno Mechanicus is definitely the name of a bad guy in a late 80s, early 90s cartoon that is trying to take over the world with an army of robots.

    • generaltekno-av says:

And then the Transformers all look at them weird as that’s a weird name even for Transformers.Splatterblast would be a more believable name.

  • kinjacaffeinespider-av says:

Yeah, she’s probably a more fit parent.

  • eatshit-and-die-av says:

“Musk is refusing to allow Grimes to see Techno Mechanicus”…Fuck the entire family. All of them should meet the guillotine.
