This was a pretty huge week for casting news. Glenn Close and Henry Winkler are working on a comedy together, Zach Cregger’s Weapons added Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, and more to its already stacked cast, and Missy Elliott joined Pharrell Williams’ still-untitled coming-of-age musical. Beyond that, films continue to vie for buyers out of the Cannes market later this month.

There’s a lot of news surrounding Weapons this week, the upcoming horror thriller from Barbarian writer-director Zach Cregger. The film has added Alden Ehrenreich to its main cast in an undefined role, as well as Benedict Wong (3 Body Problem), Amy Madigan (Antlers), Austin Abrams (Euphoria), and Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives). They join Josh Brolin and Julia Garner, whose appearance was . Ehrenreich, who most recently starred in Oppenheimer, is also currently working on the Marvel series Ironheart, as well as Switzerland, a film about a writer trying to convince Patricia Highsmith to write another Ripley novel.
